Bench 2 (week 3 of 10)

Not a bad workout today...the Board Presses were good...we used the 4 boards and felt pretty strong with that motion...We will be doing them for another week or two and then move down to the 3 boards to work that range of motion...I think that range might have a little more sticking point, so that will be good....Things have been going well and with no meet in site we are just working on improving overall strength....

Flat Bench-135x10, 155x10, 185x8, 225x8, 275x6, 315x5
Close Grip Bench-225x8, 275x6, 275x5
Board Presses-365x5, 405x4, 430x3, 440x2(4 boards)
Tricep pushdowns-110x10, 120x10, 120x10
Tricep Rope-70x10, 80x10, 90x10
Preacher curls-50x10, 70x10, 70x10

Tig, I'm only guessing, but your triceps must have been howling after you were done!

well yes....they are still a little sore even today...but we are still moving forward with our Heavy bench workout tonight.... :) we are looking at a meeting Nov 18th here in Ohio and we want to be very close to the 550 range come meet time...so we have some work to do...

Them some strong looking numbers there Tig, how do you like the board presses so far? I thought they were a nice addition when i first started out on them, kinda give you something to look forward to. Maybe you mentioned this somewhere, and me being too lazy to search, but are you a bench only guy? wasnt sure if you were or if its just the way your trainnig is at this point

love the boards...we are going to hit them hard here for awhile and see how things go...We are really excited about the gains we are making...we feel like things are going the right direction and we are going to look at a meet in Nov...so we are excited....O yeah...bench only....When I was in High school we did full meets...and they were a blast but don't have the time to train for all lifts now nor do I want to put my body through all that...I had a little back issue about 3 years ago and don't want to go and do that...we are thinking about doing some squats but DL's.........well don't know about them :)
