CARDIO
Walked 2 miles on the treadmill a little incline can't remember the numbers...but it was good...I am planning on doing CARDIO about 3 times per week....just have to get it done....
I am new at this, but my main purpose was to post my workouts and to give and get ideas from others who are lifting and who has lifted....

There are some who don't or won't do cardio. I think it is good to get some in too. It is very boring and often mundane. Sort of like abs for me ;) It also gets the bad rap for having the potential of robbing you of strength that would otherwise go towards your lifting. I differ in that opinion to a certain dgree. As you get nearer to the date of a meet or end of a cycle and you are lifting near your max, then is the time to step away from the treadmill and most of the assistance work that may make it more difficult to make those heavier lifts.
I like to walk on the treadmill first thing when I wake up. Seems I have a much better day when I do. And when you do some cardio first thing in the morning, before you eat, it is supposed to be more benenficial in that you will burn a lot more calories.
I do cardio to try and stay healthy. I have a rather noticable belly which detracts from the better aspects of my physique. I understand though that by doing 20 minutes a day, 3 times a week, I won't put a dent in reducing the size of my gut, but hopefully I'm keeping my matabolism revved up so I won't put any more size on it either. I also believe that in doing cardio, it helps with blood flow which is critical in feeding your muscels. Why would anyone work hard at increasing muscle density and not receive any benefit?
Doing a high number of reps at the start of a training cycle is critical in establishing a base of endurance for when heavier loads challenge you, you are able to withstand and be successful in moving those loads (weights). I think by doing cardio supports endurance. Therefore increasing your ability to train longer and harder.
Keep up the great work Tig.
no doubt....I just have to lose about 10-15 pounds and that is going to be the way I do it...I use to do cardio A LOT...and really benefitted from it...lost about 15 pounds then...but since I haven't been doing it as much that 15 is back on...so I just need to stick with it...and go hard...
